In spite of its main role, it is regarded as the most difficult language skill to learn (Kurita, 2012). On the other hand, a good proportion of the linguistic input people receive every day is through the auditory channel, listening, which anxiety has significant effect on.”In order to be effective listeners, learners must be able to actively and strategically participate in the listening process within a low anxiety classroom environment” (Vogely, 1998). More than a decade of research (Arnold, 2000; Bekleyen, 2007, 2009; Chang, 2008; Cheng, 2004; Elkhafaifi, 2005; Goh, 2000; Graham, 2006; Gregersen & Horwitz, 2002; Horwitz et al., 1986; In’nami, 2006; Izadi, 2012; MacIntyre & Gardner, 1991; Philips, 1992; Vogely, 1998; Xu, 2008; Young, 1990; Zhang, in press) indicate that anxiety hase negative effect on the language learning process. Anxious students may avoid participating in class or doing their homework. They rarely participate in oral classroom activities (MacIntyre & Gardner, 1991). Dalkilic (as cited in Bekleyen, 2009) stated that such anxious students tend to avoid difficult linguistic structures that more confident students will try to use. As listening is an important phase of learning, and anxiety is considered to be a key effective variable which create several potential problem for the students (MacIntyre & Gardner, 1991),this study focus on listening comprehension test to investigate the correlation between listening test results and foreign language anxiety of English language students. Since there have not been any studies on the Foreign Language Listening Anxiety (FLLA) of English language students in the intermediate level, the aim of this study is to contribute to the field by examining the FLLA experienced by intermediate students of English
